According to a Pew Research Center study nearly two-thirds of Facebook users take a break from the site.
I did, earlier in 2012. It’s oddly liberating.
I would later go back, but I definitely don’t use the site like I used to in high school or college. For me I guess you can call it Facebook fatigue?
Out of the 61% of people who said they took a break from the site, the study found that 21 percent were too busy to go on Facebook. Ten percent took a break because of a general lack of interest, 10% stopped using the site because there was an absence of compelling content, excessive gossip or drama accounted for 9%, and 8% took a break because they felt they were using the site too much.
The study was conducted by telephoning 1,006 adults living in the United States in December 2012.
