Facebook is a great way for us to share our photos, videos and to keep in touch with our family and friends. Is Facebook surfing making us unhappy?
According to a German study from two universities the answer is yes.
CNET reports “one in three people felt less satisfied with their lives after browsing Facebook. People who don’t post at all, but still read about their friends’ lives, fare the worst.”
The study found that vacation photos was a common cause of people being unhappy. Social interaction and comparison to friends on the social network came in second.
There was also a difference in how men and women use and view the website.
For example, according to Reuters, “men were shown to post more self-promotional content on Facebook to let people know about their accomplishments while women stressed their good looks and social lives.”
How do you feel after you use Facebook? Do you think this study is accurate?
