Blogging is an excellent way to share and communicate information. I am a student journalist and blogging gives me the opportunity to connect with my readers through text, photos, and videos.

Blogging gives me a spot in the large Internet world. A good post or story can drive people to my website through Google and other search engines. Social media also helps your blog post or blog go viral if it’s something worthy of being shared across the Internet.

Blogging also helps me with my writing. As a journalist, writing and sometimes writing under tight deadlines are crucial for success in the field.

I love being able to connect with my visitors and followers. Connecting with readers and viewers helps further my stories. I believe journalism is a two-way street. The story does not stop with the story going on air or being posted online.

Why do you blog? (Or why not) What do you think the benefits are of blogging in your line of work are?

A blog serves as ones own personal voice. It’s a place where you can write whatever you want and see how people respond to it. I launched a website http://www.whyiblog.com that asks the same question to people, why do you blog? Some for money, some for love, some to be a good parent; everyone for different reasons. Check out the site and see how people have responded and I would love to hear if you want to contribute. Keep up the blogging!
